"Home is Where the Navy Sends You"

And the Navy is sending us to
WASHINGTON
!!!!!

Boy, the past couple days have been a liiiiiiittle crazy!

But first of all----
CONGRATS TO JOEY!

This guy. He just completed Prototype and it is such a weight off his shoulders. Prototype was much harder than we ever expected and we're so grateful that experience is over! I'm really proud of Joey and how hard he has worked to get through the program, and still managed to make sure I was taken care of. He really is super man, you guys.

So this moving thing…..we got our orders last Thursday night.
We are moving Saturday.
That's right.
Nine days.

We never thought we'd be moving so quickly and so soon, but that's military life for ya!
We're very excited for our upcoming adventure, despite how overwhelming its been to organize our move in essentially a week, and we're really going to miss the great people we've met in our ward here too. Because I'll be 31 weeks when we head out and we'll have Marley and Remy in tow we're going to take our time getting there with some visits with family and friends across the country----The Fleshmans on tour, coming to a city near you!

So get ready for us, Pacific Northwest, because the Fleshman's are comin' for ya!

185 Days Down: Baby Update

And only 94 days (give or take a few) to go!
Boy, time is flying by.

We're a couple days shy of 27 weeks and things are going great.

I've been off bed rest for a couple weeks now which is so nice and my migraines have significantly decreased as well---and all I've got to say about that is: hallelujah!

The little eggplant is still groovin' a lot which has been super fun and Joey really enjoys feeling his kicks and rolls. I'm still hoping that one of these days he'll be able to give Remy a good nudge when she's snuggling with me!

We're steadily getting things ready for his debut---the most recent exciting purchase being his swanky new car seat! Oooh it looks so good. Joey is so pumped to get it hooked up in the car, he keeps trying to convince me that 13 weeks isn't too early to have it ready to go. Ain't he adorable? I just love how excited he is for his little man.

------

Well I hope everyone's week is off to a great start! Our "weekend" starts tomorrow morning but poor mr. Joey is kicking it off by getting his wisdom teeth removed---talk about a serious bummer. But I'm at least hoping for some quote worthy, drug-induced moments from that handsome man of mine. So, fingers crossed!
Joey will be well taken care of over the next few days but in the meantime make sure you enjoy straws and crunchy foods for him!

So What if it Was Six Months Ago.

Well, I'm on day four of bed rest over here.
I had an OB appointment on Monday and long story short, they're now monitoring me for contractions.  Because my cervix is still closed they're not entirely sure what's going on, but I go back on Monday for the third time in a week to get hooked up to the monitor and just check how things are going. So in the mean time, I'm pretty much not allowed to do anything.
And I'm kinda losing my mind over here.

So. I figured all this time sitting on my bum would be a great opportunity to finally go through that last handful of photos from our time in Connecticut over the summer. Yeah, yeah, I know it was six months ago and they're hardly relevant now, but hey, have pity on me. I'm running out of my favorite shows on Netflix so I've gotta do something to pass the time.
Six months to the day actually, we took a little trip to Newport, Rhode Island to see a couple of the super amazing Newport Mansions. They were amazing! I can't even imagine living in houses like these. We didn't have a ton of time so we only visited two, but The Breakers (the Vanderbilt's home) and Rosecliff (where the 1974 Great Gatsby was filmed) did not disappoint. You can't take photos inside the homes, but just hop on Google and take a look at how breathtaking they are.
On our flights to and from Italy we re-read The Great Gatsby, and I tell ya what, going to these fabulous mansions really brought a new perspective to the book. Definitely a recommended trip and one we can't wait to do again!

There's a Birthday Boy Over Here.

And its Joey!

Joey's working nights this week, so I planned a little surprise with some streamers, balloons, and a touch of something sweet for when he got home from work this morning.
Remy also got in on the birthday fun and was extra excited when Joey came home!
She even donned a party hat to celebrate with the birthday boy! And she actually didn't totally hate it….
 Marley on the other hand…..
(((this is her 'mom! help me!' face)))
And since this morning was technically Joey's evening, I made him a peanut butter pie to enjoy when he got home. Don't sprinkles just make everything more fun?
Birthday boy is sleeping right now, but once he wakes up I'll have a special dinner ready for him before he heads back to work. Once again, shift work makes regular celebrations a tad tricky, but we make it work--and it was so fun to stay up late last night to get things ready for Joey to come home to this morning.

----------

This guy is the one person that makes me a total cheese-ball, so….

Joey Fleshman, you are just the greatest! I'm so glad I get to be your wife, because you make life so much more fun and amazing and all-around fantastic. You're so funny (I'm cracking up about the "Joey, smile!" incident right now), smart, kind, hardworking, generous, determined, selfless, thoughtful, and pretty darn cute too. I've loved every day with you--all 1,175 of them! And I can't wait for thousands more. I'm grateful for everything you do, from going with less sleep so we can have some extra time together after work, to picking things up for me when I have bad round ligament pain, to secretly doing the dishes because you know they're the bane of my existence. You work so hard to provide for our family and give us everything we need and much of what we want, and I appreciate it so much. You go above and beyond as a husband and you're totally going to kick butt as a dad. I'm really looking forward to raising a little boy that's just like you, right down to the curly hair and precocious yet gentle spunk. I'm honored to tackle the bad days with you and celebrate the good days with you too. Thank you for all you do and for the kind of person you are. I'm one lucky gal to be married to someone as special as you!

Happy birthday, Joey!
Remy, Marley, Baby Bean, and I love you very very much!
